Working as creatives, we are often usedaccustomed to relating to our imagination and workin posing toward our work with a playful approach. Working as creatives, we are often used to relate with our imaginations and to work playing with it. Most adultsof the adult population, however, are drivenis driven to put aside this aspect of themselves and focus on a more rational approach.
How can we allow ordinary people to access their creative and artistic potential?
BE.POLAR Studio presents an exhibition of “non-artists” dedicated to the technique of collage. Graphic, photographic and multimedia representations made by those who seek to go beyond borders of their imagination.
Selection
We selected and cut out more than 300 pieces from magazines and newspapers.
PARTECIPATION
Since the beginning of June, we have involved more than 40 “ordinary” adults of different genders, ages and professions with our workshops.
We wanted to show that anyone can face his/her artistic side and return to handling thought with the creativity of when you were a small child.
CREATION
Each person had 15 minutes to create a portrait of themselves with our cutouts and give a title to the piece.
The rule of the game? “You don’t paste, you lean!”
The newspaper pieces were taken, overlaid and interpreted differently each time and, each time, returned “to their place” waiting for a new collage.
